Our Progress so Far

Posted on Jan 9, 2012 in Blog | Comments Off

We at Fourth Level began our tentative fundraising in July 2011. We have enjoyed all the events we’ve hosted thus far, and it’s been a pleasure meeting all of you!

Thank you to all who came out to our most recent fundraiser! On December 17th we hosted a Winter Concert for Congo at Faith Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill, and we were able to raise a total of $1,800! We are tremendously grateful for the generous hearts of all of you who gave. Many thanks to Faith Lutheran for hosting the event!

A current count of our fundraising efforts puts us close to $4,000. This is a fantastic amount; we’re almost half-way to the $8,000 it takes to construct the actual safe house building. But to make this safe house staffed and functional, we need a total of $20,000, so we have a long way to go!

Please keep us in your thoughts and bring us up in your conversations as we embark on a new year of fundraising. Find us on Facebook if you haven’t already. We’ll let you know what we have planned for the new year.

A Congolese proverb says that though the night is long, our day will come. We will raise the $20,000 we need to get suffering Congolese women to safety, and we’ll do it with your help. Thank you and peace to you!

Thank you art lovers! You helped us raise almost $800!

Posted on Oct 14, 2011 in Blog | Comments Off

On Friday, September 30th, Panama Bay Coffeehouse was rich with laughter, live music and vibrant visual art created by passionate artists donated to Fourth Level for our cause. We had great raffle baskets filled with goodies donated from local businesses, had fantastic art on display for auction, and enjoyed spectacular classical music by professional classical guitarist Richard Flores. Some of the pieces were auctioned off, but many will be available for donation soon via our site!

THANK YOU to all who came to check us out. We’re so glad for all the people we’re meeting who are genuinely interested in what we’re doing, and we are so grateful for the generous support we’ve had thus far.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!! Through the auction of our art and the sale of raffle tickets we raised almost $800!

Stay tuned for future events!

Thanks for a great first event!

Posted on Sep 22, 2011 in Events | Comments Off

September 1st was a marvelous evening rich with live music, poetry, and art provided by an eclectic group of gifted performers and artists. Panama Red Coffee was packed to the rafters with people who came in for a cup of coffee and found themselves inspired by the obvious passion of those who believe that our community can foster great change for a part of the world that desperately needs it.

Thank you to Panama Red for allowing us to use their facility, thank you to all the performers and artists who gave of themselves to make this event possible, and most of all, thank you to all of you who came out and supported this great cause!

On September 30th, we will be auctioning off the incredible art that has been displayed at Panama Red Coffee through the month of September. There will be raffle prizes and live music provided by master classical guitarist Richard Flores. The silent auction begins at 7pm and ends at 9pm, with the auction itself closing at 8:30pm. More info will be posted shortly.

We would love to see you there!
